I bang on about it quite a lot, I realize, but it really is a very interesting subject. Interesting in a sad way if i'm truthful.
80% of people who survive an attempted suicide would never even think to do it again.
The other 10% most likely try it again.
The majority of those who attempt to end their lives don't necessarily want to die. They want to end a cycle, to end a devastating situation or to seek help. Sadly a cry for help will only be taken seriously if the attempt suicide is serious.
This I can well believe. It's not enough to tell people how we feel, how much we want to die or hurt ourselves, we actually have to prove that to them to get any sort of help.
If people stopped, slowed down and actually opened their fucking eyes or made an attempt to listen maybe attempted suicide wouldn't be as common.
"But I didn't even know they were hurting?"
"Did you ever ask?"
